In-Person Dual Forms + Russian Manicure Foundations

  • Course
  • 1 Lesson

3-Day Intensive | London, Ontario, Canada | $4,200 CAD The most comprehensive in-person training — Russian Manicure foundations and the complete dual forms system, taught together over three full days.

Dual forms without proper foundations lift. Every time.

This training was designed because I kept seeing nail techs learn extension techniques without understanding the prep and structure principles that make them last. So I combined both into one complete in-person experience.

You leave with two complete skill sets — the Russian Manicure prep and cuticle foundations, and the full dual forms system from fitting to finish. Both taught properly. Both practiced on a real model. Both corrected in real time.

Quick note on what this covers: The Russian Manicure content in this training focuses on prep — nail anatomy, cuticle work, e-file safety, and nail plate preparation. Structure and product application are taught through the dual forms system, not as a standalone overlay technique. If you want the full Russian Manicure overlay and retention system, that is covered in the separate Russian Manicure Foundations training.

What Is Covered Across 3 Days

Russian Manicure Foundations — Prep Only

Nail anatomy and safety standards Every structure you are working around, what your job is in relation to each one, and the sanitation standards that apply when you are working close to living tissue.

Complete prep order and nail plate preparation The full prep sequence — in order, with no shortcuts — and why each step creates the condition for the one that follows.

Cuticle work and pterygium distinction What cuticle is, what pterygium is, how to tell them apart, and how to remove dead tissue correctly without causing damage to living tissue.

E-file safety — bits, speed, pressure, and control Speed ranges by task, bit selection by zone, angle and pressure principles, and the stop signals that are non-negotiable.

Structure, apex placement, and product application are covered through the dual forms system below — not as a separate overlay technique.

Dual Forms — Complete System

Form selection, sizing, and fitting How to choose the right form for the nail shape in front of you so you are not correcting fit problems during the build.

Product application and structure inside the form Where to place product, how much, and where to keep it thin — including the apex and balance for extension wear.

Shape, length, and customization How to customize within the form for the length and shape the client wants while maintaining structural integrity.

Removal process — safe and correct How to remove dual forms without damaging the nail plate — the step most nail techs skip proper instruction on.

Retention specific to extensions Why extensions lift differently from overlays, and how prep and structure decisions change when you are adding length.

What Is Included

  • 3 full days of in-person training with Maya

  • Real-time corrections throughout both days

  • Practice on a model you bring

  • Full written reference materials for both skill sets

  • Certificate of completion

Model Requirements

  • You bring your own model

  • Model should be available for both full days

  • Model nails should be free of existing hard gel or acrylic at the start of Day 1 (gel polish is fine)

  • Natural nail length that allows for form application — very short or severely bitten nails can limit practice during the dual forms portion

Who This Is For

Nail techs who want to offer both Russian Manicure and nail extensions — taught together, correctly, in the most efficient format possible.

Open to any experience level. Open to anyone who can travel to London, Ontario.

If you only do nails part-time right now, this is still the right training — the skill sets you build here are what allow you to raise your prices and take fewer clients for the same income.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need experience with Russian Manicure or dual forms before this training?

No. This training is designed to teach both from the correct foundation. You should already be doing nails on clients — but no prior experience with Russian Manicure or dual forms is required. If you have some experience with either, we will build on what you already know.

Do you provide a model?

No — you bring your own model. Your model should be available for both full days and have suitable nails for form application. If you have questions about model suitability, email before booking.

Is this the same as your standalone Russian Manicure training?

No. This training covers Russian Manicure prep — anatomy, cuticle work, e-file safety, and nail plate preparation. It does not include the full overlay technique, structure application, or retention system that is in the standalone Russian Manicure Foundations training. Structure in this training is taught through dual forms. If you want the complete Russian Manicure skill set including overlays, the standalone training is the right choice.

What should I bring?

  • Your full kit — e-file, bits, lamp, forms, builder gel or hard gel, base, top coat, prep products, and tools

  • A nail brush, dust brush, and any products you currently use

  • Pen — reference materials are provided at the start of Day 1

If you are unsure whether to bring a specific product, bring it.

Dates are arranged after enrollment and your deposit is received. Spots are limited — I take a maximum of one student or one small group per session.
